Windows generally two types of use of filesystem file system FAT and NTFS to store the data on the hard drive. So let us first understand what is the FAT file system? FAT table represents the allocation of space for a file. The FAT contains an entry for each file stored on the hard drive. The hard drive is divided into two portions, system area and data area. The area of the system acts as an index as the hard drive.
Understand the FAT file system in detail. The FAT file system is composed of five different sections.
Master Boot Record (MBR) - An MBR is created by the FDISK program, it is the first sector of the partition.
Boot Record - contains basic information about the file system, the pointer to the location of another section and the code of the loader of the operating system loader .
FAT Region - contains two copies of the allocation table space for a file, they are the maps show how the partition of the clusters are allocated on the hard drive .
Root Directory Region - it store information about files and directories in the root directory
Data Region - this is where the actual file and directory is stored on the hard drive.
So when the file system FAT or the failure to experience a loss of computer data. FAT because these systems contain all the information from the data that is stored in the computer system. Once that happens the system of corruption in FAT entries get deleted but the data still reside on the hard drive. That is why the recovery software FAT data has been developed to recover deleted partition, lost or damaged in the FAT system.
